Q:What is your favorite clothing store? (Jacque M, Bremerton)
A:"Bergdorf-Goodman in New York City."

Q:Have you ever had to wear lipstick for any of your photo shoots? (Sara G, Seattle)
A:"Yes, for a cover of Miami magazine and to appear on the Letterman Show. They put on a little lip gloss and some light makeup."

Q:Do you have a blankie or a teddy like me?(Tommy R, 5, Renton)
A:"Not now. But when I was little like you, I had a teddy bear."

Q:Who is your closest friend on the Mariners?(Sperling, Bainbridge Island)
A:"Two: Joey Cora and John Marzano."

Q:Can you go anywhere without being recognized? (Anonymous)
A:"Sometimes. But it only takes one person to notice me and the word spreads."

Q:How did it feel to hit for the cycle? (Anonymous)
A:"Great, but I think that in 10 years I'll look back and realize it was more of an achievement than I thought when I did it. It was special and it was really neat to meet the woman who won the $1 million. That was pure joy they shared the achievement with me."

Q:How early do you show up for a night game? (Anonymous)
A:"About 3 o'clock."

Q:What's the worst pickup line you've heard? (Aaron P.)
A:"Can I wrap you up and take you home to Mom?"

Q:How do you feel about interleague play? (Anonymous)
A:"I didn't like it because of the travel involved and all the preparation getting ready for just two games. Yet I know the fans liked it, so I hope baseball figures out how to do it better."

Q:Do you still use Junior's bats? (John K.)
A:"No, I use my own now in games. For BP (batting practice) I often use a heavier model I get from someone else like Paul Sorrento."

Q:Who was your first kiss? (Carolyn R.)
A:"A girl named Miriam in the seventh grade. We dated for three days before we kissed after classes one day. I never saw her again after that school year. Sometimes I wonder what happened to her."

Q:I'm in ninth grade and have some spare time. My cat passed away last year. I know you miss your dog in Miami, so I could watch him during the season so you could see him more. (Ashley R.)
A:"I really appreciate that offer, Ashley. I do miss my dog, Ripper, badly. I'm thinking of having a friend bring him to Seattle for a visit."

Q: What are your new shoes going to look like? (Anonymous)
A:"I don't know for sure, only that it will be subtle and sleek and made of suede material, like nubuck leather. I'm going to meet with the designer when we get to San Francisco."

Q:Do you plan to attend college? (Robert D.)
A:"I'll be going to the University of Miami this offseason, starting work toward a degree in communications."

Q:Have you ever been to the top of the Space Needle? (Anonymous)
A:"Yes. When I signed with the Mariners, they took me and my family there to celebrate."

Q:Do you have a steady girlfriend? (Several have asked)
A:"No, I don't."

Q:Do you have any baseball camps for kids? (Brittanee S.)
A:"Yes, we've had them for three years now in Miami. This year we'll have summer clinics, run by Rich Hofman, my coach at Westminster Prep. We're not sure what the locations will be around the country."

Q:Who takes care of your dog during the season? (Anonymous)
A:"My mom and my stepfather. She's a 4-year old German shepherd named Ripper. They tell me she misses me. Next year, I won't live in a condo where I can't have her with me."

Q:What would you be doing if you weren't a baseball player? (Anonymous)
A:"I would either be teaching or be working as a stockbroker."

Q: What's the most memorable prank you've had played on you? (Anonymous)
A:"I had to wear a wedding dress with high heels and sign autographs after a game in KC my rookie year."

Q:What's one of your memories of growing up in New York? (Anonymous)
A:"Asking dad to give me a dollar for pizza and I'd go to the pizza store for a pizza and play pinball all day"
